It all began in a café in Taipei’s East District, where a group of young people returning from abroad found one another through a shared love of films and books. As we went along, we kept experimenting and refining how we choose our reads and run our discussions, so the gatherings became more than book chat. They became a space to learn together, listen well, and share life. That’s how Bookdigest came to be.
Each month, we take turns picking the book, ranging from novels and psychology to world history and personal finance. Sometimes it’s a book you’d happily pick up yourself; other times it gently nudges you beyond your comfort zone. Seeing the world through someone else’s choice keeps every month fresh and full of surprises.
We believe reading isn’t a one way intake, but a process of circling back, challenging ideas together, and letting them settle over time. Only when you chew on what you have read does it truly become your own. We meet in a different café each month. If you love a good book, a meaningful conversation, and a great cup of coffee, come join us!

Each month, we will pick the book, and trust us, it's never the same. From fiction to psychology, world history to personal finance, you'll find yourself reading stuff you'd never pick on your own. It's like a mini adventure outside your comfort zone, and honestly, those surprises are often the best part!

Founder of Book Digest, a reading community built on the belief that reading is more than a solitary pursuit of knowledge, it can also be the beginning of meaningful human connections. Andrea is one of the hosts of the podcast “Afternoon Girls' Club”, and also hosts “Midnight Laundry”, where she explores classic literature, films, and animation. Having found immense joy and comfort in classic literature herself, she hopes to connect stories with everyday life through approachable conversations and fresh perspectives, while creating meaningful connections with her listeners.

I read at my own pace and host discussions just as naturally, with no fixed reading preferences and no pressure. While I treasure the quiet moments of reading alone, I equally enjoy the inspiration that comes from thoughtful conversations at book clubs. I hope to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where ideas can spark naturally through conversation.

I'm Debby, an introvert who loves reading on my own, but who also treasures the safe space that Book Digest creates, a place where everyone's thoughts can flow freely, meet, and inspire one another. Through hosting and participating in discussions, I hope everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves. I believe reading helps us become kinder, more resilient, and more at peace with ourselves.

Picture book collector, reader, illustrator, aspiring picture book creator, and mother of two boys. My dream is to publish my own picture books, and I hope every child in the world can grow up healthy and happy. That's why I love telling stories, and hearing how different people discover entirely different stories within the very same book.

I'm Lior, a lover of literature who believes reading and discussion are ways to keep our critical thinking alive. I enjoy connecting what I read with my own life and sharing those perspectives in a safe, welcoming space. For me, the best conversations are the ones that help us see the world, and each other, from new perspectives.

I'm Tony, and I believe books are the best vessels for preserving memories and ideas. To me, reading is the simplest way to walk through someone else's life in their shoes. I also love sharing every great book I read. Feel free to check out my podcast: White Noise Book Talk.
